3.1 Information You Provide Directly

Depending on your engagement with the Platform—whether as an Expert seeking casework or a Client seeking investigative support—we may collect:

Account & Professional Profile

  • Personal identifiers: Name, email address, secure phone number, password, and time zone.
  • Professional credentials: State licenses (e.g., PI License #), Bar admissions, specialized certifications (e.g., CFE, EnCE), years of experience, and CVs.
  • Entity details: Firm name, practice areas, physical office address, and corporate website.

Marketplace & Case Data

  • Case specifics: Case titles, detailed descriptions, required jurisdictions, budget parameters, and urgency levels.
  • Proposals: Fee schedules, scope of work definitions, and conflict of interest declarations.
  • Communications: Secure messages exchanged within our platform regarding active investigations.

Evidence & Workroom Information

To facilitate secure collaboration, we collect:

  • Files, forensic reports, digital media, and other evidentiary materials uploaded to our secure Workrooms.
  • Metadata associated with uploads (e.g., timestamps, hash values) to support chain-of-custody tracking.
  • Contractual data including milestones, retainer agreements, and final invoices.

Security Note: We utilize enterprise-grade payment processors. ExpertPI does not store full credit card numbers or sensitive financial authentication data on our servers.

A distinctive feature of ExpertPI is our comprehensive directory. We may pre-populate Public Expert Profiles by aggregating professional data from public records and Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), including state licensing boards, court filings, and professional directories.

Accuracy Disclaimer: While we strive for precision, public data sources can occasionally be outdated or incomplete. We do not guarantee the absolute accuracy of Public Expert Profiles. We strongly encourage Experts to claim their profiles to verify and update their professional details.

3.4 Information From Third Parties

We may supplement our data with information from verification services (to confirm PI licenses), fraud detection agencies, and analytics partners.

05Public Expert Profiles, Accuracy, and Opt-Out

Public Expert Profile

Generated from public records and OSINT sources. These profiles serve as a directory resource and may be visible to visitors and search engines.

Platform Profile

The verified version managed directly by the Expert after claiming their account. This profile reflects the most current and accurate professional data.

5.3 Claiming, Correcting, or Removing a Profile

If you are a professional listed on our Platform and wish to claim, correct, update, or remove your profile, we are here to assist you.

Upon receiving a verified request, we will promptly assist you in updating your Platform Profile or removing your Public Profile from our search directory, subject to our legal obligations and business requirements.

06Third-Party Verification & Data Sources

To maintain a high standard of trust within the ExpertPI marketplace, we reserve the right to utilize reputable third-party services and public resources to validate Expert licenses, certifications, and professional standing. This vetting process is crucial for ensuring that Clients can confidently engage qualified professionals.

07How We Share Information

We treat your information with respect and share it only in specific circumstances:

  • With Platform Users: Expert profiles are visible to Clients to facilitate hiring. Case details, proposals, and evidence are shared strictly between the engaging Client and the hired Expert.
  • With Service Providers: We engage trusted vendors for hosting, payment processing, security auditing, and customer support.
  • With Verification Partners: To confirm the validity of professional licenses and certifications.
  • For Legal & Safety Reasons: When compelled by subpoena, court order, or to prevent imminent harm or illegal activity.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, user data may be transferred as a business asset.

08Cookies, Analytics, and Tracking Technologies

ExpertPI is a professional B2B platform not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
